Las Vegas Trip Report: McCarran Airport

Well so Vegas has come and gone again... And this time wasn't as fruitful of trip as the last. Needless to say that I am still running bad.

Here are the irrevelent stats:

4/8: +120 TSP: 2hrs
8/16: -340 TSP: 2hrs (game broke on a Friday night at 8pm WTF?)
10/20: -300 TSP: 4 hrs (ran into some big hands and couldn't hit any draws)

Didn't get to play as much as expected, standard for trips with lots of people involved. But that is the way it goes sometimes.

Look for some hands on CP later in the week

Later.

8/7: The Wait...Off to Las Vegas

Well, all is quiet on the work front right now and the ETA for Las Vegas and sis's birthday celebration/poker trip is exactly 12 hours.

Look for periodic updates hopefully with some sessions of 8/16 & 10/20 and possibly some O8 sprinkled in for fun.

GL to the crew here in Sacramento this weekend at Capitol.

7/3: Capitol Casino - 15/30 (wtf?) and 4/8 Kill

What the hell? Yeah you read right. The Supernit played 15/30, but only for an hour, because I am the Supernit.

15/30: TSP - 1 hr. TP: -$100
4/8 Kill: TSP - 2.5hr. TP: +$100

Prior to talking about the short time of 15/30, the 4/8 Kill was cool, made some hands hold and ended up a rack from that; not anything of note to mention.

So yeah, in lieu of the 9/18 Kill game at Capitol, they have started spreading a 15/30 game which is hugely out of my bankroll. They only reason I played the 15/30 was because I was railing it, and I saw countless 4/8 plays. People coldcalling 2 bets with shit, playing uber loose, and just making horrible plays. I figured fuck it, why not put my name on the list it will never get called, Whoops. The wait at Capitol was horrendous, the 4/8 list was about 15+ deep and I didn't end up getting called until an hour of the 15/30 game.

So quick rundown of my experience:

-The 2/3 blind structure makes for looser completing requirements.
-The players were a tiny bit better, but not amazing, definitely noticeable
-Knew when to lay down Aces.

A quick HH:

Hero is UTG+2 w/ the black AA.

UTG open limps.
Folded to Hero, Hero raises.
Called by HJ, Button, both SB, BB and UTG.

Flop: 854 rainbow

SB checks, BB donks, UTG calls, Hero raises, folded back to BB who 3-bets, UTG calls, Hero caps all call.

Thoughts???

With the BB donking,I thought two pair, or even a set. The thing that really made me think. What was the UTG guy calling 2 bets cold back to him, crazy?

Turn: 6

Shit, that pretty much killed my hand. BB leads out, UTG calls, Hero folds.

River was a King.

Showdown went like this:

BB had 67 for the flopped nut straight, and UTG showed 57os for the turned gutty to tie.

That was all dirty, but gotta lay em down when you are beat.

So, when I get rolled, like in 2 years, I will be frequenting this game.

Hopefully, the 9/18 game will be running of Friday and I will get in about 5 hours.

And, this just in; my sister, (easy Nik), turns 21 in August and there is another trip to Las Vegas and the Mirage in the works.

7/5: Blog Neglect and Las Vegas Round 1

Well, where the hell have I been???? Its been a blur of the last 3-plus months. Here is a little update of what has happened in the life of the Supernit:

-Graduated w/ B.S. in Civil Engineering from CSU Sacramento (good bye to school)

-Started full time (pay raise woot) w/ URS (U Really Suck Engineering Inc.)

-Girlfriend (Vanessa) has now moved into our apartment

-Visited Las Vegas to meet the CP crew (ups to Duece, Pika, Shabba, Luske, and Eusebio all were chill cats)

Oh yeah....

Played lots of poker that I have neglected to blog about so here it goes.

For the months leading up to graduation, the Superstar and the Superdonk played countless sessions at Cache Creek and Capitol Casino. From every single session I found myself learning a ton about leaks in my game and spots where I need to be betting and taking down pots that no one wants.

On that same note, there were not that many things to note of from the sessions that I played in California. Las Vegas was a whole other ball game. The game in LV is, as the Santi said, a little softer than that of the casinos and cardrooms here in CA.

As was the plan, I stepped up to 10/20 all at the Mirage and found out the game is not any different from the 4/8 Kill that I usually play. It was a great experience, and I can't wait to go back soon.

All in all, the LV trip boasted a total profit of $430 from roughly 22 hours (mixed 4/8 half-kill, Omaha 8-or-Better, and 10/20) of play which payed for the trip and the nights out later in the week that Vanessa and I had.

Whatever the Session Numbers were for the Month of May

Well, I have been having a pretty good run up at Cache the past 4 sessions....

Excluding today.

Whiffed alot, got sucked out on a lot, whiffed some more, played pretty well in spite of everything, and dropped 2 racks.

Lots of good things to take away from this session, will blog it up later.

Yeah, so as I was saying, ran pretty atrocious, but that would be an understatement. It was more of running bad and cold at the same time; didn't play too many hands, and when I did, I could make them hold.

Short summary:

TT gets 3 outered on the River.
KK gets 3 outerend on River.
KK can't fade a flush draw and over card.
AA gets 2 outered by 66.
AK, AQ, AT, etc, whiffs every time.
Hit no flush draws, didn't flop and sets.
Saw AA (1), KK (3), QQ (1) TT (1) and 44 (1).
Got to lay down kings on all unders board on turn, boo (2 bets to me on turn)
Ran QQ in KK who limped in UTG.

So all in all pretty craptastic day. Oh well, we can't run Santi-like all the time.

Probably will see the creek on Thursday.

Session No. 34 Capitol Casino (3/4)

4/8-Kill: TP = +$130 TSP = 4 Hrs

Got to play a little today, and let me just say that Cap was in extreme GAMBOOOOL Mode, at least at my second table. It was so great. My table had My Grandma, a younger black female, a couple younger Azn donktards, and Tina, the middle aged Latina woman who plays somewhat solid, and an older Filipino Donk.

Anyway, I really didn't run too great and had to hit the flop with some interesting cards. I saw TT once, and QQ once, AQos once, and AJ once.

TT<99 in 5 way capped preflop pot.
QQQJ>KK in 4 way pot, flopped trip Q's and rivered a boat.
K6s turns flush and 2 people call down.
85>99 rivered quads.
KQos gets there against flopped two pair by turning flush.

Ok I will post the more interesting hands that I lost first:

Last Hand I played:

Hero (Seat 8) is UTG and raises w/ QQ (clubs and diamonds), UTG+1 3bets, Seat 1 calls 3 cold hmmm, folds to SB who calls 2.5, and Sue calls 2 more, Hero Caps and all call. ($80)

Flop: Ts 9s 6s (Ugg not really a good flop for QQ but what the hell right)

Checks to Hero, who bets out, UTG+1 calls, Seat 1 Raises, SB calls 2 cold, as does Sue, Hero calls (right play does anyone 3bet????), UTG+1 Calls. ($120)

Turn: 9c

All check to Seat 1 who bets, SB calls, Sue calls, Hero calls (comments), UTG+1 calls.

River: 6h (Fuck)

I was planning on making a crying call on the river due to the pot size but that just got shot to hell.

SB checks, Sue bets out, shit I am way beat even more that before, UTG+1 Folds, Seat 1 Calls, and SB calls.

Showdown:

Seat 1- K3 of spades flopped flush
Sue has 86os for 6's full of 9's
SB takes it w/ 98os for 9's full.

Wow, gambooooool!!!!

Hand 2:

Hero is in SB w/ TT

Folded to Filipino Donk (Seat 3) in MP who raises, Seat 4 calls, Seat 5 3bets, folds to hero who caps it, BB calls, and all others call.

Flop: 9 5 2 rainbow (Good I think)

Hero leads out, BB folds, Seat 3 raises, Seat 4 folds, Seat 5 calls, Hero just calls (knew I should have capped it fuck)

Turn: A

I figure to donk bet and get the other 2 people at the table out of the hand and for that fact that the Filipino Donk had 9 chips in front of him. Well that doesn't work, he goes all in for 9 and then Seat 5 calls also.

River: 3

Bleh, Hero check and all check:

Showdown:

Hero Show TT
Seat 5 mucks
Filipino guys shows 99 for a set.

Oh well, should have 3 bet the flop for sure now in retrospect.

Here is my favorite hand of the night:

Earlier on CP the Santi and I had a little convo about raising with suited connectors well here it goes:

Hero is in Hi-Jack w/ 67 of clubs:

Were are 7 handed at this point.

UTG limps, Sue limps, Black female limps, Hero raises (thats right), CO calls and button folds, SB calls as does the BB, Sue and the Black female.

Flop: Q:c: 9:c: 3:c: (Boooom!!!!)

Checked to Hero who bets and CO calls, BB calls, and Sue calls.

Turn: K:d:

Check to Hero who bets, and same story. Don't put up another club.

River: A:s:

Sweet, Checked to Hero who fires again, and all fold giving me a nice pot.

This was a little better situation than the 98s hand that I raised with on Saturday for couple reasons: 1- Position 2- the players behind me were very passive and I could try to at least get position on the table to be able to check behind if a couple face cards hit the board.

Well, it was a good short session.

In other news my new bed arrives in a couple days, California King FTW!!!!!!

GL to the Superstar and Superdonk at Club CC on Thursday.

-Good Nite Now.
