12/6: Capitol 6/12 - "Steve, you are a prop now?"

I got out this Sunday to go and play some 2-Card poker (LHE) and it was an interesting day.

The table had 2 maniacs that played every, I mean every hand for the first hour and a half of my session. Every hand was at least 3 bets preflop, kill pot or not. LOL live limit hold'em. Gotta love.

Well I really didn't win any hands at all for the first couple hours until 1 of the maniacs left. Then I made back the half rack that I lost earlier in the session trying to set mine w/ 6's 4's and 5's in capped pots preflops.

TSP: 3 Hrs
TP: +$110

No really interesting hands, flopped 2 sets that held, turned a straight in a kill pot and didn't get paid off on the river. I did over play a hand where I think I got a little bit out of live w/ a 1 card straight flush draw which rivers a straight but loses to the flopped nut straight.

And in other news, Steve from Cache Creek who mildly resembles Kyle Gass from Tenacious D is now a prop player at Cap. He plays pretty solid, and is a pretty fun guy to bullshit with while playing. We didn't get into many hands together.

Next weekend I will be playing...guitar with Wigs and Ties live in San Luis Obispo. I will post the setlist as a trip report when I get around to it.

Woooot 80s rock.

11/27: Black Friday 6/12

Ok, so this is just going to be a blog tease. Will be back later to write about my session.

Spoiler Results:

-Missed BBJ by Villian not having QQ
-Made $13.50 on selling Hi-Hand to Feliz

Opinions to come on this Isildur1 character and this ridiculous action that he is giving/getting to all comers including the newest Full Tilt Pro durrrr.

________________________________________

Ok, so I am back to give some quick thoughts on durrrr vs. Isildur1. Speculative information that we know of:

-Swede Viktor Blom "Blom90" on iPoker (Euro Site) has been outed by Ziigmund et al.
-At one point during the month of November he was up close if not above $6 Mirrion.
-At the end of November he was listed to be up only over $1M.

-The majority of his profits came from newly inked Full Tilt Pro Tom "durrrr" Dwan.
-PTR & High Stakes DB tracked Isildur1 to have taken roughly $5M from Dwan.
-A few months back there was a new kid at the nosebleeds, "Martonas' also a Swede has been rumored to be Isildur1's neighbor; w/e if for some reason this is true that is a bad play by these two. It would be hard to imagine that no information was passed between the two.

All that information as side the railtards, me included have been watching this intermittently. And as I am writing this right now Isildur1 and durrrr are 6-tabling 300/600 with Isildur1 up about 1.2 on the day taking close to $900k from Brian Townsend and is up about $150k on durrrr. Soooo ridiculous.

More speculation has been put on the amount that durrrr has lost than anything else and the validity of the tracking sites. I would have to think that they are quite accurate because so few players can play that high it would be hard for them to miss a hand. No one really knows what is the state of durrrr's BR and what his deal w/ FTP entails, but whether or not he had all of himself in the last matches vs. Isildur1 the $5M has got to hurt somewhat.

Short history of Isildur:
He first appeared on FTP in October playing 25/50 and ran up his BR a good amount then sat down w/ Patrik, Gus, Degenamine, CTS, Haseeb Quershi, Phil Galfond. Then he proceeded to absolutely facefuck durrrr in both PLO and NL for $5M+.

All that aside this last month has been historic for FTP and the online poker world.

Since his downswing Isildur1 has been rumored to be broke; that is probably not true. And if he keeps up what is going on right now he will finish the day up more that 1M.

On the other side of things for durrrr he has since comeback a little bit winning roughly $2M in the 7-game and 200/400 PLO and 300/600 NL.

Many people have thought that durrrr should move back down and rebuild a little bit which he has done quite nicely.

__________________________________________

As I just typed, this here is the chat posted at the end of their NL session:

Isildur1: i am to tired to play 36 now
durrrr: i have 45min more
durrrr: les play here for that?
Isildur1: i can play 5001k
Isildur1: any game
durrrr: k
durrrr: come 5001k plo
Isildur1: k
durrrr: jus 45min hto
Isildur1: ok

So they are 6-Tabling 500/1000 PLO. How is that for BR management Mr. Ferguson.

11/22: Atlantic City

So, the warmup forum trip has come and gone. Good night Atlantic City, you're beautiful. Actually it was. Really, I had my preconceptions about what the East Coast in particular AC was going to look like, and I was completely wrong/

I didn't see the troves of Italians cursing, profuse smokers, and that annoying Jersey accent (sorry Deuce) was drowned out buy the mass of opulence that was the Borgata Poker Room. 85 tables all going at the same time, awesome.

A quick thanks to Shabba for picking Nik and I up in Philly, chauffeuring us to AC, and the return trip was equally appreciated.

So onto the live forum games. Well, what's new??? Shifty fucking owned as expected to the tune of about +8k. Shabba finished the trip up 2k. Rambler lucksacked his way to a great trip scoring +1.5k. Nik made $700. Deuce I think was down a little bit. Dennis was even. Loretta, well we all know what happened there he probably was the big winner imo.

And then there is me... I played NL for the first time live. It wasn't bad, or good for that matter. But I have to say that it is pretty slow moving as compared to limit, and for some people that is fine but I haven't got into it yet.

Summary and 1 HH.

7.5/15: -300
1/2 NL: -200
Pai Gow: -100
1/2 HA (Half NL, Half PLOrly): +600
Total: +/- Even

So the trip started out on a good note and I made about 200ish at 1/2NL, and then proceeded to give back that profit in the 67/CP Pink Chip Game to the tune of a $500 down. And Pai Gow is no good for me or Loretta for that matter.

So my trip came down to 1 hand that got me back to even. The CP/67 Crew made it back to Harrahs about 3:30 Friday Night and decided to get a mix game going. 1/2 HA, half hour rotations. Rambler decided to leave his tampon in and spectate being content w/ his 1.5k upswing for the trip instead donating to us obv :-)

I was needless to say playing pretty tight and was pretty card dead.

HH:
Shifty (covers)
Shabba ($275-ish)
Hero (&275-ish)is dealt KKJ7 double soooooted in hearts and spades
Nik (n/a)
Deuce SB (n/a)
Dennis BB (n/a)

Shifty - Pots UTG to 10, Shabba calls, Hero calls, Deuce calls, Dennis folds - ($40)

Flop: K89 (top set, all money is obv going in)

Checked to Shifty, who leads for 30, Shabba calls 30, Hero makes it 120 straight. Folds back to shifty, who effectively shoves me AI, Shabba calls, and I call all in.

Pot is now $800 and change.

With the cards turned up, Shifty shows 8976 for bottom 2 + a open ender, Shabba shows the low 13 card wrap, and I show top set w/ blockers.

So, the turn brings the 9 giving both Shify and I boats, Shabba is drawing dead. Leaving only 1 win in the deck that doesn't show up on the river.

I douche-ingly exclaim "Ship it all!!" and rake in a niiiiice pot to bring my trip back to even.

So that was AC; fun, fun, fun.

Later in the week I am gonna get into the carnage that has been endured by durrrr's bankroll, Isildur, Patrik, and Phil. Along with some small stakes musings from the Cap NL realm.

-Cheers

10/30: Upcoming Trips...

“I come all the way to Atlantic City to see your Mugs…”

“Welcome to Las Vegas East…”

Well, not exactly. For the interim forum trip this year, Santi, myself, and hopefully the Superdonk will be venturing to Atlantic City. Seems fun and is shaping up to be a short but badass trip.

I, having never been to the East Coast before, have this mental picture painted in my head of what AC/Philly will be like:

Things to look for would include but are not limited too:

-Degen Pai Gow w/ Shifty where he will inevitably own the game
-East Coast Accents
-Lots of Italians
-Coffee and Milk
-Yankee/Philly Fan
-Deuce commenting on who’d “Get it.” And making advanced plays at 4/8
-People burning heaters one off of another
-Cursing
-Overall Hatred of People from the Left Coast
-Orange Faced broads from Staten Is. / Long Is. / North Jersey
-Turtle from Entourage
-Wrestling Talk
-Live MFK Game
-Shabba commenting on how gross a play was, and that he is “face-fucking” insert name of poker game here

I think that about covers it.

Oh yeah, there will be poker in there somewhere with the famed game “Johnny Lodden Thinks” and Limit Hammer throwing, etc., Now if only there was a Carnegie Deli.

The games should be pretty juicy so said Deuce/Rambler. I am looking forward to the ‘Pink Chip Game’ (7.5/15) and the 10/20 at the Borgata which has a spectactular room.

Santi and I are red-eying out to Philly Tuesday night, kickin it in the city of brotherly love to get steaks Wednesday, and then being politely chauffeured to the entrance of Harrah’s AC by Shabba. (Thanks again man)

So its only 2+ weeks away, woot.

And then a short 8 or so weeks after then we get back to the ol’ stomping ground of Southern Nevada where the ‘Sand turns to Gold’ wait wrong description but w/e.

Poker and Porn II will commence in the first week of 2010 highlighted by a great turnout which already includes:

Santi, Deuce, Shabba, Shifty, Reb, AC, Superdonk, Me, KL, Ahhhhst, and other’s still yet to confirm. I am sure that there will be long periods of bedlam involving busted hoes at the Convention as well as ridiculous antics at the tables.

PLO/LHE/O8/NL Mix game has already been discussed…It just needs a name…

More details to come on this.

Also I am posing a BIG question to the US readers involving a overseas trip. Would anyone want to me the man, the myth, the accent that is Doyle?

What do you think about a 2011 WSOP Europe Trip? Could be fun.

And a short side note on poker- I have played only 3 live sessions since Vegas, and have posted positive sessions all 3 times. I have been putting time into learning NL and have been playing 10NL online.

CP3: Belated LV Blogs...In before tl;dr

Wednesday June 10

After landing the Santi and I cabbed it to Harrah’s and checked our bags to wait for the crew to arrive in town. Kid, Rambler, Dennis, Trey, Trey’s wife and Shifty were already in LV and we came to find out that Shifty had already satellited into the $1500 NLH WSOP tourney to start on Thursday. We all eventually met up at Venetian and got some food w/ Ramble, Dennis, Shifty, and the Shabba.

Sidenote: the Mexican place in the Venetian food court has delivered 2x now.

After some food we all make our way over to Mirage and meet up w/ Pika and Deuce. From then on we basically played some 4/8 (lol minibetaments as Shifty would call it) with a mandatory straddle and sometimes restraddle, as well as Hammer Throwing (7-2 Game) was on, obv. This time we only ran off 3x tourists. It was slightly down from last trip.

I think that I came up like a rack at this game after boating w/ TT against Nik when he attempted to throw the hammer at me with a turn CR. I felt kinda bad for Pika because when Nik left to go check into the room, Pika got a seat and Rambler threw the hammer 2x and I did once so Pika was down $15 without even being dealt a hand (move to LOL Live poker).

We hit the deli for round 1 of the trip after the short 4/8 session and I just chilled for the rest of the night.

Thursday June 11 – Santi Day

After a semi late awakening, I headed over to the Deli and had some French Toast shipped my way. The Deli is a always kick rainbow, btw. After eating with Pika and AK and Rambler, we decided to join Nik and Deuce at B. As a sidenote, Bellagio no longer spreads the 8/16 game only failed interest lists right now. Its either 4/8 or 15/30 gay gay gay.

Jason (Pika), Kenny (Rambler) and I got on the 4/8 list and railed Deuce who ended up running pretty bad in the 30/60 game but the action in that game was pretty juicy. Nik looked to be maintaing at the 15/30 but nothing really of note. I think that he ended the day down a little bit. There wasn’t much to say for the 4/8 session except that I think I came up a little over a rack after sitting w/ Pika and Rambler and some other random douches that just wouldn’t STFU.

After a mildly amusing session Deuce, Shabba, Nik, Rambler, Pika, and I headed for the Rio to rail Shifty in the $1500 NLH event. Shifty looked to be running pretty decent and at the end of Day 1 he had roughly 26k in chips. It looked pretty promising that he would cash in the event with like 100 to the money bubble.

We did end up seeing some notables one Phillip Hellmuth Jr. who ended up busting out before Shifty, that’s right suck it Phil. The Chark, The Mouth, Roland de Wolfe, Kido Pham, and Chino Rheem to name a few.

But the highlight of the night by far AINEC was Deuce proceeding to own Shabba in the WSOP HU video game that the Rio had in the halls outside the Amazon Room. As I recall it K2 > A4 100% of the time. Of course the cab ride back to the Mirage for the Deli was priceless. Shabba just ripping Deuce up “King-Deuce is the nuts” the whole way back. FTR, Deuce is 3-0 in this game after owning some random chick who we thought to be a hooker but obv., we were wrong.

An aside, the cab talk this trip was tops over any other trip. Shabba commenting as we walk into the Rio about how some story about a guy who had some chicks staying in his room and not banging then and what the Cabbie must have thought of us the entire ride.

So if you are keeping track 2x to the Deli today.

Friday June 12 – Check Raising Dr. Buss

So as Nik and everyone else on the forum has mentioned we did get to play H.O.R.S.E. with Dr. Jerry Buss owner of the Lakers. Superdonk, Nik, and I being from Sacramento had to hold back our comments that regarding the Lakers and anything that may have happened in the playoffs (cue Luske).

But anyway, Dr. Buss was directly on my left, great. All in all he was a pretty chill guy. It was pretty funny when he was trying to explain to his girlfriend easily 18 years old what Stud 8 was. I think that she was more enthralled with he bejeweled phone that anything that was going on at the table. He also mentioned that he wouldn’t be going to Game 5 in Orlando, instead he was going to play in the $1500 H.O.R.S.E. event at the Series.

I pretty much owned the H.O.R.S.E. game, I came up a little under $300. I did pretty well only understanding 4/5 games. I still have no idea what I am doing in Stud 8. I smoked the hold’em rounds and ran pretty good in the Stud Hi rounds as well.

I gotta give one hand history. I am in the BB w/ T8os and Dr. Buss is UTG he raises, Nik calls on the button, Superdonk called in the SB, and defend in the BB. Flop comes Q97 rainbow. Superdonk checks, as do I, fully intending to check raise anybody who bets the flop. Jerry bets out, Nik folds along with the Superdonk, and I check raise. Jerry just calls. Pretty obv that he has AK here. A 3 hits the turn and I lead and he folds. Yep, I check raised Dr. Buss and took it down. I had some suspicion that he felt bad for us and just folded and let us play our game and didn’t our mere pocket change.

Reb (67) eventually took SD’s seat in the 2 and we BS’d a while and I got up and then just continued to drink Grey Goose and Hypnotic. Somewhere around 2 or 3 I called it a night and headed back to Harrah’s.
Also Shifty cashed up a level for some where around 3.5k and then took down the $175 SNG for another 1k. Shifty is owning LV so far (recurring theme of the trip).

Saturday June 13 – 6 Hours of 10/20 and Life Failing at Horse Betting

After French Toast at the Deli for the 2nd time, Shabba, Nik, Pika, Deuce, Shifty, and I each shipped the Mirage Sports book $20 for some degen horse betting. Oh well it was an interesting way to spend 2 hours.

It was classic to hear Shabba screaming, “For the Love of God Goooo.” Repeatedly as our horse fell back in the pack every single race, lol horse betting I guess.

After the burning of the $20, all the guys except me decided to go play the Venetian $120. I stayed at the Mirage and play the 10/20 for about 6 hours. What really sucks about the Mirage is that they had 3 tables of 10/20 going at one point. A must must move, into a must move, into a main game. I played at the must move table for about 5 hours and was up about $350 or so but once I got moved to the main game it was with a bunch of old nits and I just whiffed for an hour and came down to up only $35 for 6 hours, gay gay gay.

The middling limit games like the 10/20 there was not a lot of live ones in the main game. At the must move there was probably 4 bad players who donated and then got stacked and left which was unfortunated.

1 HH for the session it was pretty weird I was pretty much abusing my image of being pretty TAG although I was blind stealing pretty liberally and opening fairly light in position of course.

Folded to me in MP w/ two black 5’s I raise, and am called by the button SB, and BB. Flop comes AJ4 all check to me, I fire, button folds, as does the SB and the BB calls and obv says the std. one time. I am thinking that he has me beat probably with 77 or is just hoping to see another 4 hit the turn. The Turn ends up being a 6 which is a safe card for me. I didn’t see the BB hitting that so I figure to fire the turn, he tanks and eventually folds and I take it down.

That was about it for the 10/20 session. I eventually met up with the guys at B and played some 4/8 w/ Rambler and Nik for a bit then walked back to Harrah’s around 3 or so.

5/20: A Belated 6/12 Session

So, after a bunch of procrastinating I am finally getting around to posting a blog about my last session.

Last Wednesday (5/20) I met the Superdonk and Nik down at Cap for some 6/12 action. After donking it up at 4/8 and losing about $40, I was called and took the 6 seat to the right of the Superdonk.

I ran pretty cold for the most part and got involved with some hands that I shouldn’t have been in. One being where I raised w/ A6 of diamonds after a couple limper including an off shift dealer who limp re-raised from UTG. It was elected not to peel on an all black board that came J93 (2 spades) but what ever. I also whiffed some over cards before my move to Seat 1 on the right of Nik, uggg. Weeeeee, 2 TAGs right next to each other.

Things started to look up, at least in card quality. I had KK 2x, and QQ once, none were able to hold on a drawy boards and ones that had over cards.

I did have a couple notable hands after that. The first being in a pot where it was limped in 3 spots and I limped on the button w/ KJos, which I probably should have raised but w/e. Nik was in the SB and raised it up, the BB and everyone else called. Short story was that I flopped broadway and Nik flopped a Set of Aces. He didn’t pair and I took a nice sized pot. He was also pissed I didn’t raise preflop 

The next hand of note was where I raised red 7’s after 2 limpers and gained position, and had only the BB along with the other limpers call. The flop came Q63 and it was checked to me, and I bet called by Bill, a loose player who typically called with ATC and another person. Turn was an offsuit Ace both the caller and Bill checked to me, and I bet again. I am probably behind but I am planning on getting to show this hand down. The river paired the 6 and Bill checked and I checked behind and showed 77 to win; Fwiw Bill mucked JTos.

I won another hand where QQ held on a drawy heavy paired board, and a hand where I rivered a set of 5’s vs. some chick’s top pair and busted flushed draw. She had been your typical station calling my raises w/ crap. In that hand I opened 55 in MP and bet the flop, checked the turn where she didn’t bet and I would have insta-mucked, obv. And then I donked the river where she looked me up with top pair.

And my most crusher hand of the session was in a kill with JJ. Against the UTG guy who looked a lot like Johnny Chan and had opened to $24, I was UTG+1 and 3-Bet to $36. All folded back to him, and he capped it. Flop came Ten-High he checked, I bet. I knew at this point I was probably way behind to QQ-AA. Usually these guys donk go crazy in kill pots without QQ-AA. So, when a 6 hit the turn, I just planned to check and call a river bet. I checked the turn, and you know what, a jack hit the river. So I obv, bet the river. UTG begrudgingly called and said if I hit my Jack I was good. He mucked KK.

That was pretty much it. I came up $70 after the loss at 4/8 and the downswing during the first part of my session at 6/12; it feels good to put one in the win column after the last 2 sessions.

Hopefully I will be putting some major sessions next week as I will be put on stand by here at work, wooooot and boooo at the same time.

Vegas is little under 2 weeks away!!! Gogogogogo.

Down and Down - 6/12

Short blog, lost close to 2 racks this weekend, running really bad and card dead but w/e. Just have to start holding and fading those draws/gutters.

After talking to Santi, the simple only cure is to run better.

OK, I will work on that.

Look for more updates next week.

5/9: Superdonk Birthday - 6/12 Bash

First off, a Happy B-day to the Superdonk. No real telling what his age is; Nik mentioned that instead of assigning an specific age, you should assign a range to him. That being said we think that the Superdonk is anywhere from 21 to 40 years old.

Enough of that business down to the action. After talking to TFong on Friday he said he would be playing at Cap on Saturday during the day, so I showed up around 2 and put both of us on the list. After a small wait I was called for a 4/8 Kill seat where I sat for about 30 min before they opened a new 6/12 game. During this time, the SD said Nik would be joining us so I added him to the list.

By the time that the new 6/12 started the table shaped up like this:

1 - Sagtard Azn Female
2 - LPP older Mediterranean looking dude
3 - SAG
4 - Superdonk
5 - SAG (Tuan) He plays there alot and I have played with him for about 20+hrs he is pretty loose
6 - Wilson - Cap prop player now, who usually plays pretty well
7 - Some half mexican looking dude with a wolverine haircut and a goatee :)
8 - Older lady who plays pretty tight but always seems to hold good cards
9 - Me

Overall the session at both the must move, and main 6/12 went well, I ran I would say better than average. And was a bit more aggro pre-flop. Although I did miss 2 value bets (once w/ QQ, and once w/ AJ) which Nik let me know about and I added that to the knowledge bank and will start doing more and more often in the upcoming sessions.

I will give a quick rundown of some hands.

33 > AQ I open raised in LP and got called down on a board of Q53T8
TT > AQ Nik limped AQ UTG in a Kill, I raised black tens and the flop comes T-High, He didn't peel
AQ > ?? I capped pre-flop and turned the Nut flush and don't get looked up on the river.
QQ > ??
KK > K7os Some donk at main game block bet into me when a 3 flush hit the turn, I called and we check-check the river
AQ > ?? I rivered a straight after flopping Top pair
55 > Some flush

So with all that said, I want to talk about this hand and the game structure when there is a no-post kill game. You might think that it doesn't change things but that is not true this structure totally changed my play in this hand.

There had been some discussion a while back about limping into a kill pot in EP when you are first to act because there is no real reason to raise to win 2 chips. But obviously had there been a kill-blind, I raise 100% of the time in this spot.

Kill-Pot

Hero is UTG w/ AQos and limped in planning to limp-reraise as Santi and I had discussed earlier in the session

Called by the guy directly to my left in the 9 seat the SB and the BB.

Flop: AJ7 rainbow.

Checked to me I bet called by everyone ut oh. I was only betting the turn if a safe looking card comes.

Turn: T, hmmmmm

SB Checks, BB thinks for a bit and bets out. I have played with him enough to know that he isn't betting the turn with at least 2 pair, and I was somewhat disturbed that everyone called on the flop with a board like that.

I fold the turn, I just didn't make any sense at this point, and to be honest I was pretty lost.

The hand plays out like this. Seat 9 calls, the SB check-raises, the BB 3bets, Seat 9 folds SB calls.

River T.

Check, bet, call. The BB turned a straight with T9, and the SB flopped two pair w/ J7os.

All in all, that was a pretty interesting hand and you can see that the no post kill blind totally changed the play during that hand.

Just for fun, 1 more hand.

Hero is in the HJ w/ 55 and it is limped in every spot, and I limp as well. I think that only the CO folded this hand.

Flop: J65 rainbow (1 heart)

SB, and BB (Superdonk) both check UTG leads out, 1 call, and 1 fold to me, I raise called everywhere.

Turn: 6 of hearts

Checked to me I fire w/ the boat and I see the Superdonk almost getting ready to raise but he just called and so did the guy in seat 6.

River: T of hearts

Superdonk thinks for a bit and bets out, and the dude in seat 6 tanks then folds, I raise and he calls.

I show the 5's and rake in a nice pot.

He went runner-runner flush, just a bad spot for running hearts.

Thanks for reading. I will be at Cap next Friday for more 6/12, see you all there.

Eeek, Card Deadedness, Again

I got in 6 hours or so of action down at Cap. It was a pretty dull day though. I was just card dead as all hell, even worse that 3 sessions ago. But hey, that is life sometimes. Of the small percentage of hands that I did play, I couldn't hold at all.

There were no real hands to talk about.

So I guess I can just chalk this one up to experience and look to run better next time.

Overall for the day:

4/8: -$60 (.5 hr)
6/12: -$120 (6 hrs)

On a side note, I will be becoming a live grinder at least for a little while as it looks from the work stand point. Unemployment, and live poker, lets give that a shot.

Capitol Casino: 4/25 - 4/8 & 6/12 Kill

So I had a some time to play during the afternoon on Saturday before dinner, and rolled into Cap around 3pm. I was 3rd on the 4/8 Kill list and 7th on the 6/12 list ugg. As I reconized that the 6/12 game had Wilson, Tom, a spewey Azn guy, and some other random gamblers.

I ended up getting called for the 4/8 seat in about 10 minutes and took my place in the 7 seat next to an old soccer ref and a field of other random donks.

Both my 4/8 and later 6/12 tables didn't seem too tough at all, but I was pretty much card dead the entire session. I did see Aces once for a small win, AK for a semi nice pot after capping HU with a guy who had 99.

The only hand of note, went as follows:

Hero has the button and is deal AJ of clubs. It limped in 4 spots, and I raise, the blinds fold and UTG limp re-raises his last 4 chips, and we all call. Does anyone cap here?

Flop: J52 (2 of clubs)

Pretty sweet flop IMO. Checked to seat 4 who donks, 1 call in between and Hero raises, all call.

Turn: A of spades.

Checked to me again, I fire, all call. 4 to the river.

River A of diamonds. This turned out to be a sick, sick card.

Check to seat 4, who fires, 1 fold in between, and I raise all fold back to seat 4 who just calls.

I show AJ and rake in a monster. Turns out seat 4 flopped a set of deuces and I went runners FTW. I run gooooot!

After a while of waiting I got called for the 6/12 and sat in the 4 seat where I continued my card dead streak and didn't play a hand for 3 orbits or so outside my blinds.

I only ended up winning 1 pot before I took off in an interesting hand where I completed from the SB w/ Q4 of clubs after 4 people limped and the flop came T98 w/ the T9 of clubs. Got a bunch of bets in on the flop which was pretty std. but I really want to know is your opinion of my turn play. I will post this on CP & 67 to get some feedback.

But the short story is that I turn the flush w/ the J of clubs hitting the board. I ended up leading into the field. It would look weird to just check after playing the flop fast.

Does anyone check in the SB and hope that a Q fires the turn and go for the check raise?

Anyways, I do fire the turn and all 3 people call except the button. The river is kind of a scary card pairing the board w/ a T. I ended up nitting the river and just check calling in case some one rivered the boat.

But yeah, all in all after my session Wednesday night and Saturday afternoon, it was a pretty good week at Cap.

I finished the day:

4/8 Kill: +$130
6/12 Kill: +$70

Ain't no telling if Cache Creek will be happening this week it kinda depends on work. Otherwise, the 4/8 Superfriends, and I will be looking to put in a big session at Cache on Friday.

Capitol Casino: 4/22 - 4/8 & 6/12 Kill Wooot!

It was an interesting day down at Cap and people were in the mood to throw some chips around the felt.

I ended up having a 2 part session after a false alarm put a halt the 4/8 portion of my day and I had to take off for home. I had intentions of coming back if the 6/12 game was good, as confirmed by the 4/8 Superstar via TXT.

4/8: +90 3hrs
6/12: +140 2hrs

So I made some time to play last Wednesday after work and met The Santi down at Cap around 6 to find him already seated at 4/8 just putting along.

So, not too many hands of note besides the fact that there were 2 drunk off shift dealers that proceeded to try and spew chips to everyone. One female Azn dealer in particular, open raised alot and every time that she did I turned up with a monster. I had Aces twice, QQ once, AK once, and AQ once, all holding for the day.

I will only talk about 1 hand from my 4/8 session. I am in MP w/ two black Aces, its limped in 3 spots, I raise, folded to button who raises all in for 3 more and all call. The flop comes A68 all hearts, checked to me I fire all call. Turn is the J of spades, checked to me I bet all call. River is a diamond...the Ace of Diamonds. Checked to me I bet my quads, and get 1 caller. Turns out the button flopped a queen high flush and the caller flopped 2 pair w/ 68os. So that was a nice pot.

After I returned from what I will call an extended bathroom break, I returned intending to meet Santi for some food. However I ended up playing 6/12 instead as the game got real fishy w/ two players who were complete tards and like to call 3bets cold w/ Q5 and things of that nature so it was a great game.

I will just give a greater than less than because I have no patience right now.

AT > ?? HU pot

55 > 3 players when I didn't bet the flop & turn after the SB raise and it checked to me

AK < Q5 Maj called three bets cold and raised the flop after hitting his queen.

AJ < T7 in a Kill pot where I held off a straight draw.

99 > Ax (2x) I flopped a set, after opening UTG+1 and got three bets in on the flop, and bet it the whole way down.

That is all for now, I might make it out to Cap tomorrow late afternoon-ish. If there is no blog on Sunday, look for a blog next Thursday night after a hopefully lengthy Cache session which will include some Aces Cracked Action, Woooooot.

Capitol Casino: 4/10 - Running Awful and Card Dead, What a Pair!

Well it was a wonderful day in Sacramento today, birds singing, trees around the outside of the office reaking of dank twat, and charging only to overhead the entire weak gotta love it. Since the last blog I had to actually put my BR back in the bank for a time, didn't want to have random amount of cash lying around the house.

So I hit Wells Fargo after a bowl of Mongo w/ Santi, a Friday tradition <3 Mongo. And as a plus, the Superdonk made it out, woot.

But enough of this shit on to the awesomeness that is/was/will be live low limit hold'em.

So, the story begins in the 6/12 game with a huge amount of older tight players. Chop, chop, chop and steal. Not my kind of game. I only sat at the 6/12 for about hour when people started to leave, on a Friday nonetheless, wtf??? Didn't take one pot, and the table was going to break leaving me last on the waiting list. So, instead of waiting, I mozied on over to one of the 4/8 Kill games.

It is really evident that the economy is taking a dump when there is no list for a 4/8 Kill game at Capitol on a Friday night at 6pm.

Oh well, let the games begin.

I really won't tell you the hands that I won, AQ once in a HU pot, KK 2x both in kill pots and draw heavy boards. And that was really about it. And of less we forget the KQos top 2 pair hand, no big deal right.

So I was even-ish and I sat in what was a really profitable table if you could run good. And obv, by the title of the blog, I didn't and couldn't. But oh well, that is a part of limit hold'em.

As an overview of the table:

1 Seat: Hero
2 Seat: Donk old guy who looked like Schmee from Cpt. Hook, Doppelganger ftw.
3 Seat: Korean Donk who I joked a lot with the entire night.
4 Seat: Random Azn Donk
5 Seat: Horace, older man who couldn't hit a flush to save his life, he whiffed 6x that I saw.
6 Seat: Overweight old, white, Tight Passive player.
7 Seat: Random Azn Donktard
8 Seat: JPizzle esque in personality, White, NL player who ran god like, but couldn't play limit very well at all and dumped 5+ racks to the table.
9 Seat: A Bevy of random donks et. al.

Here are some awesome beats that I took, not really bad just frustrating as all hell. In before captain obvious blast.

Hand 1:

JsTs in the SB limped in 3 spots, I completed, BB checks. Flops comes: T52 (2 spades), Hero leads, called in 2 spots, button raises, I 3! Bet, and all call, Wtf? Am I good here probably not. Turn: 4 of Spades, Boom???? I lead, and get 1 fold, and the button raises, uggggg. I just call, probably should have 3!'d again but w/e, I really thought that I might be up against a better flush. Too nitty? River comes the T of Clubs, and I check call, with another caller in the middle.

Turns out Seat 8, the NL player had the Q7 of spades, and the other caller had flopped 2 pair w/ T5, so that didn't surprise me at all. Moving on.

Hero is dealt ATos UTG and I raise, called by HJ, Button old guy donk just terrible, SB and BB.

Flop comes: AT4 rainbow, great right?? You would think it goes two checks, I fire, called by HJ and BB. Turn brings a 3, BB checks, I fire again, HJ calls and the BB raises, fuck? Am I beat? I just call and the HJ folds, river is a 9, and the BB bets out and I call. He rolls over 52os for the dirty gutter ball!! Wooot gotta love it.

That hand really got me more that somewhat irritated, but he was a bad player and I didn't want to piss him off, I just rapped the table and said, "Nice hand."

So yeah, there was one more hand where I was in the BB w/ A3os and the flop comes 433 with 2 hearts and I fire the flop and turn and 5 people see the river which comes a J...of hearts and I lose to Q7 of hearts somewhere in mid-position. That was a great size pot 15BBs+ but hey, that is the swingy-swongy world of limit hold'em.

For the most part, the hands that I did play I played well, and didn't get too crazy, which can be expected from the Supernit. But, I just was card dead the entire night. KK 2x, TT 2x, 88 & 77 1x and AK 1x AQ and AJ 1x, other that that it was slim pickens (+1 for the Blazin' Saddles Ref) for the entire night. I think that qualifies as somewhat card dead.

I saw that Capitol took away the wheel spin and Aces Beat, so there is no real incentive to play there when Cache is just 45 minutes away during the week and they still run Aces Cracked.

I should be able to get down to Cap tomorrow afternoon/evening for some more awesome action. Just gotta run better that is all.

Off to INK Cafe downtown for some filet sandwich and, yup, its gonna be a Makers and Coke night, yeah, definitely.

Life/Poker Update (December to March)

So its been about 4 months since the last entry and lots have changed in the land of the Supernit. I will get you all updated on the state of poker here in No-Cal.

Here are just a smattering of the happenings of my last 6-ish sessions:

- Played 4 times at Cache and made a fair amount of money, all the hands have escaped my brain now but w/e.

- Capitol finally answered the call and instituted a 6/12 Full-Kill Game which is awesome. I played that a couple times for about 10 hours and came down a bit. Basically its just a bunch of 4/8 players ready to spew out stacks and stacks $2 chips. <3 Live Poker

- Booked for Las Vegas and the CP Trip Vol. 3 (6/10 - 6/14). In attendance: Nik, Deuce, Shabbs, TFong, Rambler, Pika, AlbinoKid, Shifty, Dan and Reb to name a few.

- This time will be a bit different. Nik, Deuce, and Shabbs will be playing one of the limit events at the Series. I will have roughly 30% of Santi's action. So, when he takes home the braclet, I will be a very rich dude. Also there is a steak dinner to any of those three who knock out Daniel Negreanu.

Haven't really played much live poker lately because....

I bought a house and that takes up most of my time at the moment. Painting, neglecting the neighbors, you know all those great things that come with the house ordeal.

I hopefully look to start the live game up again some time in April to gear up for the Hi-Stakes 4/8 game that will be taking place in Vegas w/ Nik, Deuce, Shabbs, TFong, and Reb (but mostly for the 8/16 at Bellagio and the 10/20 at Mirage.

That is all for today. I have been hitting up Mongo pretty regularly, I should start a food blog.

On a separate note, the 67 weight loss/strength training bet is awesome. I have gained lots of strength and am 10 lbs away from being able to bench my own body weight (165), lame I know but I am a skinny fucker.
